Mazzini Wines
Mazzini Wines
Mazzini Wines was born of a love of Geelong for Geelong, celebrating its unique landscape and wine history, and has long been a dream for owner Paul Marinelli. Paul started working in the local wine industry in a sales capacity over 12 years ago, at one of Geelong’s original wineries Scotchmans Hill.
Drawing from the historical model of the French négociant, each of the Mazzini wines are sourced from sustainably grown vineyards from the Moorabool Valley, in the cooler northern reaches of the Geelong wine region. Here the small batch production of both Pinot Gris & Shiraz result in wines that truly reflect their terroir.
This ‘social’ brand was built on relationships formed over bottles of wine. Paul sought the help from one of his favorite Shiraz makers, Duncan Lowe of Rowsley Fault, to help make his first small batch of Shiraz from the 2016 vintage. This winemaking relationship continues to this day.
After enjoying many bottles of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Lethbridge, Paul was inspired to connect with winemaker Ray Nadeson to make their first Pinot Gris in 2018. Coming soon in early 2020 Mazzini Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (also crafted by Nadeson) will roll out on their first vintages.
With no cellar door, you’ll only find these wines through the Mazzini website, in restaurants, wine bars and independently owned retail stores.
Mazzini Wines are small batch wines of purity and finesse.
