del Rios is a family-owned, vineyard, winery, restaurant, and tasting room established in 1996 on the slopes of an extinct volcano, Mt Anakie. We create and serve premium artisan wine and food in a breathtaking environment, with a hint of Spanish charm. The perfect platform to enjoy quality time with friends and family.

We strongly believe that wine is made in the vineyard. The vineyard is positioned on the southwest slope of Mt Anakie, the main cone of the ‘The Anakies’ volcanic complex, which last had an eruption approximately 1.5 million years ago. We have a total of 42 acres of vines, 7 varietals, and 14 clones split across 13 blocks. The area has a continental climate and low rainfall, being in the rain shadow of the Brisbane Ranges. The soil varies from rich volcanic to sandy alluvial; they are rich in nutrients and drain well requiring the vines to grow deep root systems in search of water.

The combination of the terroir and vine care provides the ideal environment to produce rich, high-quality, and intense fruit reflecting the true varietal character of the del Rios Estate.

It is in the restaurant where our family philosophy of great wine, food, and friends comes together in a wonderful setting. Our restaurant uses local and estate-grown produce, that similarly to the wine, offers a blend of traditional Spanish and contemporary cuisine. We have also adopted a paddock to plate approach – breeding our own free-range pasture-fed Black Angus Beef and Texel Friesian cross Lambs consistent with our approach of creating premium products from start to finish.
