Ponda Estate

Ponda Estate Vineyard is a small, boutique family owned vineyard situated in the Bellarine Peninsula wine region of Geelong, Victoria. Our three acre block produces a stunning handcrafted, single-vineyard Pinot Noir wine. We also offer an award winning Bellarine Chardonnay.

At Ponda, we are committed to using sustainable and eco-friendly viticultural practices - our low-yielding vines are hand tended, sheep and chooks work the block to sort out weeds/bugs and provide fertilisation for the vines, and family/friends help us hand pick our grapes at harvest time.  Our pure-bred heritage Southdown sheep are short in stature (around 50cm at the shoulder) - ideal for a vineyard as they duck beneath the vines and leave the grapes alone - in North America they are commonly called 'babydolls'.

The cellar door is open on weekends 11am-4pm from October until the end of April (daily in January). Tastings are relaxed, informal and frequently involve a walk out to the vineyard to visit the sheep and their guardian, a Maremma called Lumen.

Visitors are always welcome at other times by appointment.
